LIFEGUARD INSTRUCTOR UPDATE
ABOUT THIS COURSE
The purpose of the American Red Cross r. 24 Lifeguarding Instructor Recertification course is to give instructors the opportunity to review the course knowledge and skills within a formal course setting to maintain their American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor certification.
Successfully completing this course is the only method for maintaining certification as an American Red Cross Lifeguarding instructor. ​

An Informed Consent and Release of Liability form must be completed and signed in order to participate in any C.A.T.S. class or program.

The Lifeguarding Instructor recertification course is delivered in a blended learning format, consisting of an online session (completed independently by the candidate) and in-person sessions (led by an American Red Cross–certified instructor trainer).
Online Session
The online sessions for the instructor recertification course takes approximately 6-8 hours to complete.
​The online sessions include two courses:

Basic-level Lifeguarding blended learning online content

Lifeguarding Instructor Recertification blended learning online content
In-person Sessions
​The instruction time for the in-person session is 6 hours, 30 minutes.
In the event that a participant cannot meet the Prescreening Requirements and therefore does not pass the pre-course, the participant may transfer into a later class at no charge or a refund of the class fee minus a $25 administrative fee will be given. Refunds will be made by check.

Please download, print and complete the Informed Consent and Release of Liability Form. Each participant must bring a completed and signed form to the first session of class in order to participate in any Cincinnati Aquatic Training Services (C.A.T.S.) class or program.
